A sustainable innovation to watch in 2022

Jonny Voon, head of the Sustainable Innovation Fund at Innovate UK, highlighted SilviBio as one of five sustainable innovations to watch in 2022 in an article on Business Vloud. He said that:

"We must continue to encourage and embolden entrepreneurs that are paving the way to a greener, fairer and a more sustainable economy."

In November 2020, SilviBio received a grant from Innovate UK's Sustainable Innovation Fund. This fund provides "financial backing and support for innovation projects to help build a greener, fairer, and more resilient future for the UK". SilviBio was part of over 1,800 projects across the UK that received support to assist with Covid-19 recovery, equality, diversity and inclusion and achieving net zero goals.

An increase in tree production is needed to meet the increasing demand for tree saplings both in the UK and abroad due to ambitious government tree planting targets and forest regeneration programmes.
